Read the Tag. Scan the Label. On One Screen.

Looking for a CT8X2 or CT8xx-class 8-inch tablet with UHF RFID built in? That is exactly what the JMDU80 is — same 8-inch rugged Android form factor, newer Android 13, and an RFID reader on board.

The only JNXRFID tablet with UHF RFID built in — for teams who count, locate and identify stock at distance, then scan a barcode without switching devices.

Warehouse & Inventory

Cycle counting, stock takes and location checks with UHF RFID bulk reads to 10-12 m — plus a 10,000 mAh battery rated for roughly 10 hours so a full shift finishes on one charge.

Asset & Tool Tracking

Read tagged tools, IT assets, containers and returnable transit items in bulk instead of one label at a time, with the 8-inch 800×1280 display showing the whole rack in one pass.

Manufacturing & Yard

WIP and pallet identification at dock and yard level, barcode capture with the Zebra SE4710 imager, and glove/wet-hand touch built for plant and outdoor conditions.

Ideal For —

  • Inventory & cycle counting — bulk UHF RFID reads instead of label-by-label scanning
  • Manufacturing & yard — WIP, pallet and container identification at the dock
  • Asset & tool tracking — tagged tools, IT assets and returnable transit items

⚠️ Consider Alternatives If —

  • You need barcode scanning only, with no UHF RFID → JMDT80 (8-inch, IP68, hot-swap battery)
  • You need a hand-held (not tablet) form factor → JMDS65

The JMDU80 puts UHF RFID reading and 2D barcode scanning in a single 8-inch Android 13 tablet. The RFID path uses an Impinj R2000 module reaching 10-12 m, paired on the same device with a Zebra® SE4710 imager for conventional labels — so a cycle count and a barcode check no longer need two tools.

The 800×1280 IPS display, IP67 certificate, 1.2 m drop rating to concrete and −20 °C to +60 °C operating window cover stockrooms, loading docks and yards, not just the office. A 10,000 mAh battery is rated for roughly 10 hours at 1080p / 50% brightness, and a 12-pin Pogo Pin interface accepts a charging dock or expansion base.

Complete RFID workflow, one vendor. Our JD240TR / JT240TR encoding printers write and print UHF RFID labels; the JMDU80 then reads them in bulk on the floor — the two ends of the same workflow. Note: the JMDU80 itself is read-only and cannot write or encode tags. It uses an Impinj R2000 (or PR9200) UHF RFID module and does not use the Zebra RE40 RFID module found in the JRE series readers.

Specifications apply to the standard JMDU80 configuration. Optional modules and accessories are quoted separately — contact us to confirm the exact configuration, and note that the UHF RFID module is factory-fit and cannot be retrofitted in the field. The UHF RFID module is read-only: it reads EPC Gen2 tags but cannot write or encode them. For tag writing or label encoding, use a JNXRFID JD240TR or JT240TR encoding printer.

Count Everything. Scan Anything.

One device for the two jobs that normally need two: bulk UHF RFID reading and everyday barcode scanning, on a display big enough to see the whole result set.

UHF RFID Reading Built In

An Impinj R2000 module reads tags at 10–12 m — the same distance class as fixed readers, in a tablet you can carry. No sled, no accessory module.

RFID + Barcode in One Device

A Zebra® SE4710 2D imager sits alongside the RFID path, so mixed RFID-tagged and barcode-labelled stock is handled without swapping tools.

10,000 mAh, ~10 h Runtime

A 3.8 V high-voltage pack rated at roughly 10 hours at 1080p / 50% brightness, with the option of a removable battery keeps a full stock-take session going, with Pogo Pin dock charging between shifts.

IP67 and −20°C to +60°C

IP67 certification, 1.2 m drops to concrete and a wide operating band for stockrooms, loading docks and outdoor yards — with IP67 speakers, earpiece and microphones.

Android 13 with GMS

MTK8781 octa-core at 2.2 GHz, 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage as standard (expandable to 12 GB + 256 GB), with Google Mobile Services on board.

the box.

Glove-Ready 8-Inch Touch

An 800×1280 IPS panel with glove and wet-hand operation and stylus support — usable with the gloves you already wear on the dock floor.

ℹ️ Note: The JMDU80 is a UHF RFID reading tablet — it uses an Impinj R2000 (or PR9200) UHF RFID module and does not use the Zebra RE40 RFID module found in our JRE series desktop readers.

It reads UHF RFID tags to 10–12 m, but it is read-only: it cannot write or encode RFID tags, and it does not print labels. For tag writing or label encoding, pair it with our JD240TR or JT240TR RFID encoding printers — the tablet reads, the printer writes.

For barcode-only 8-inch tablet duty, see JMDT80. Request an evaluation unit.

JMDU80 Questions, Answered

Straight answers for specification and compliance checks.

Does the JMDU80 do UHF RFID reading and barcode scanning on the same device?

Yes. The JMDU80 combines a UHF RFID module (Impinj R2000, up to 10–12 m) with a Zebra® SE4710 2D imager, so one 8-inch tablet covers both RFID inventory counting and conventional barcode capture.

How far can the JMDU80 read a UHF RFID tag?

Up to 10–12 m with the Impinj R2000 module, or 1.5–3 m / 5–8 m with the alternative PR9200 module. Actual range depends on tag type and orientation, antenna configuration and the environment — we can quote a realistic figure for your specific tags.

Does the JMDU80 use the Zebra RE40 RFID module?

No. The JMDU80 uses an Impinj R2000 (or PR9200) UHF RFID module. It does not use the Zebra RE40 RFID module that powers the JNXRFID JRE series desktop readers.

What Android version does the JMDU80 run?

Android 13 with GMS (Google Mobile Services), on an octa-core MediaTek MTK8781 (Helio G99) processor at 2.2 GHz with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage as standard.

Is the JMDU80 battery replaceable?

The JMDU80 uses a built-in 10,000 mAh 3.8 V high-voltage lithium battery rated for roughly 10 hours at 1080p / 50% brightness. The battery is not field-replaceable; a charging dock and a 12-pin Pogo Pin charging interface are available. If a user-replaceable battery is a hard requirement, ask us about the JMDU80H configuration.

Is the JMDU80 rugged enough for warehouse and yard use?

Yes. It carries an IP67 certificate, survives 1.2 m drops to concrete, operates from −20°C to +60°C, and is fitted with IP67-rated speakers, earpiece and microphones. Optional vehicle mounts and a hand strap are available.

Is the JMDU80 a replacement for a Cedar CT8X2 or CT8xx 8-inch tablet?

Yes, for the core 8-inch rugged Android tablet job. The JMDU80 is a comparable 8-inch rugged Android tablet, and it adds built-in UHF RFID reading (Impinj R2000, 10-12 m) plus a Zebra SE4710 barcode imager in the same body. It runs a newer Android 13 with GMS versus the CT8X2 generation, and ships with CE, CCC, RoHS 2.0, IEC 62133, MSDS and UN38.3 documentation. Note one difference: the CT8X2 battery is user-replaceable whereas the JMDU80 uses a built-in 10,000 mAh pack — ask us about the JMDU80H configuration if a swappable battery is a hard requirement.

Can I write RFID tags with the JMDU80, or only read them?

Reading only. The JMDU80 reads UHF EPC Gen2 tags with its Impinj R2000 module at 10–12 m, but it cannot write or encode RFID tags — and it does not print labels. Tag writing and label encoding are the job of the JD240TR and JT240TR encoding printers; where a workflow needs both, the tablet reads and the printer writes.
