ZT411

Industrial 4-inch UHF RFID printer with an on-metal option and up to 600 dpi resolution

The ZT411 is a Zebra® UHF RFID label printer supplied by JNXRFID to the manufacturer's published specification. It prints and encodes labels in one pass, so the label data and the chip are written at the same station rather than in two.

  • RFID print-and-encode encoder
  • 203 / 300 / 600 dpi
  • Up to 14 ips (356 mm/s)
  • On-metal RFID option

Key Features

RFID encoding
Integrated RFID reader/encoder that is user-upgradable in the field, and prints and encodes tags with a minimum pitch of 0.6 in. (16 mm).
On-metal option
An optional field-upgradeable on-metal version is available for the ZT411, and the manufacturer describes it as the only dedicated option in this class for printing and encoding on-metal tags and labels.
Resolution
203 dpi/8 dots per mm, 300 dpi/12 dots per mm optional, and 600 dpi/24 dots per mm optional on the ZT411.
Print speed
Up to 14 ips/356 mm per second for the ZT411.
Display
4.3-inch colour touch display with an intuitive menu for operation and settings management.
Construction
Metal frame and bi-fold metal media cover with an enlarged clear viewing window, plus a side-loading supplies path for media and ribbon.
Adaptive encoding
Adaptive encoding technology removes complex RFID placement guidelines, and variable inlay placement supports a range of inlay positions for media flexibility.

What to check before you specify the ZT411?

The Zebra® ZT411 is supplied by JNXRFID to the manufacturer's published specification. The answers below cover the questions integrators ask most often before specifying a print-and-encode printer.

Can the Zebra ZT411 print and encode on-metal tags?

Yes, and this is the model to specify when that is the job. An optional field-upgradeable on-metal RFID version is available for the ZT411, and the manufacturer describes it as the only dedicated option in this class for printing and encoding on-metal tags and labels. Media thickness for the on-metal option goes up to 0.059 in./1.5 mm, against 0.010 in./0.25 mm for standard media.

What resolutions are available?

203 dpi/8 dots per mm as standard, 300 dpi/12 dots per mm optional, and 600 dpi/24 dots per mm optional on the ZT411. The 600 dpi option is noted as not available on the field-installable on-metal RFID kit, so a machine that needs both should be specified with the 600 dpi head in mind.

How fast does it print?

Up to 14 ips/356 mm per second at standard configuration. Print length varies by resolution: 157 in./3988 mm at 203 dpi, 73 in./1854 mm at 300 dpi and 39 in./991 mm at 600 dpi.

How small a tag can it print and encode?

The manufacturer states a minimum pitch of 0.6 in./16 mm. It supports UHF EPC Gen 2 V2.1, ISO/IEC 18000-63 and RAIN RFID protocols, and it is compliant with the Global RFID radio for multinational deployments.

Does the RFID reader need replacing between projects?

The integrated RFID system is user-upgradable in the field. Adaptive encoding technology is used to remove complex placement guidelines, variable inlay placement supports a range of inlay positions, and industry-standard multi-vendor chip-based serialization (MCS) is supported.

What is it built for, physically?

A metal frame with a bi-fold metal media cover and an enlarged clear viewing window, a side-loading supplies path, and a 4.3-inch colour touch display. Closed dimensions are 495 mm L x 269 mm W x 324 mm H and it weighs 16.33 kg. It is ENERGY STAR qualified.

Can the Zebra ZT411 be evaluated before a volume order?

Yes. It can be arranged as a single evaluation unit before volume orders, so the printer can be run against your own label stock first. Use the Request a Quote button for current lead time and evaluation terms.
